The HoBOOken 5K Halloween Run is Hoboken's one and only charitable, costumed race. Founded in 2010, the race is an exciting fundraising event with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Hoboken Shelter.
The Shelter was on the front lines during the pandemic and never closed during the crisis. As the nation recovers, Shelter resources have been stretched thin by budget cuts, economic pressures, lack of affordable housing, and other factors that increase homelessness in our community.
We invite you to register for the in-person 5K or virtual race and help us raise essential funds to end hunger and homelessness.
The race will be held on Saturday, October 29, kicking off at 10am sharp at Pier A Park in Hoboken. The race starts and finishes at Pier A Park. You'll run through the beautiful, historic streets of Hoboken and get to take in the gorgeous skyline of New York City along the way.
We will allow strollers but there will be a separate stroller start.
Please check out our comprehensive FAQ page for in-person race details and guidelines.
In 2022, we also have a virtual HoBOOken race option which you can complete anywhere in the world. You choose how, when, and where you want to complete the distance. You can walk, run on a treadmill, ride your bike outside, or move in any another way. A virtual race allows people of all ages, speeds and abilities to compete without time restrictions and large crowds at traditional races.
The HoBOOken 5K is 3.1 miles and can be completed any time between October 29 and October 31.
